CBD Belapur Court Visit Conducted by Bhagubai Changu Thakur College of Law, New Panvel

Bhagubai Changu Thakur College of Law organized an informative and enlightening visit to Belapur Court, at Sector 15, CBD Belapur, on 15th December 2023, under the guidance of Asst. Prof. Dr. Mamta Goswami and Asst. Prof. Ravnish Bector, providing an opportunity for us to gain practical insights into the functioning of the legal system.

This initiative aimed to bridge the gap between classroom learning and real-world application, fostering a deeper understanding of legal proceedings among our students.

The primary objective was to expose our students to the practical aspects of legal proceedings. Witnessing live courtroom sessions allowed them to contextualize their theoretical knowledge and understand the intricacies of the legal profession. The visit facilitated interactive learning by providing students with the chance to engage in discussions with legal professionals, including judges, lawyers, and court staff. By organizing this visit, we aimed to create opportunities for our students to network with legal professionals.

The day commenced with an informative session introducing students to the structure and functioning of the court. This overview helped them navigate the various courtrooms and understand the roles of key personnel. Students had the privilege of witnessing live courtroom proceedings, filing and e-filing of cases across different legal domains, gaining practical exposure to criminal, civil, and family law cases. Students engaged in insightful conversations with judges, lawyers, and court staff. This interaction allowed them to ask questions, seek advice, and learn more about the day-to-day responsibilities of legal professionals.

Adv. Gajanan Chavan (Ex-President, Bar Council of Maharashtra and Goa ), and dignitaries of Navi Mumbai Court Bar Association Adv. Kiran Bhosale, Adv. Dinesh Kale, Adv. Akshay Kashid Adv. Salma Shaikh and Adv. Uttam Sarkar were gracious enough to spend time with our students and impart their wisdom. We extend our gratitude to the esteemed advocates who graciously shared their knowledge and expertise, making this visit an enriching experience for our students.

This Court visit successfully fulfilled its objectives of providing practical exposure, encouraging interactive learning, and facilitating professional networking. This initiative aligns with our commitment to offering a comprehensive and well-rounded legal education to our students. Bhagubai Changu Thakur College of Law remains dedicated to organizing similar initiatives that enrich our students’ educational experiences and prepare them for successful careers in the legal field.
