A 19-minute private video showing Bengali influencers Sofik SK and Dustu Sonali in an intimate moment has become the biggest viral scandal in eastern India this week. The clip, which first appeared online around November 19–20, 2025, has spread uncontrollably through Telegram, WhatsApp, Instagram Reels, and X despite repeated removals.
Who they are
- Sofik SK (real name Souvik Kumar), 28, is a well-known face on the YouTube channel Palli Gram TV and has over 502,000 Instagram followers. He is famous for comedy sketches, village-style natoks, and dance reels.
- Dustu Sonali, 25, is an artist and lifestyle creator with more than 312,000 Instagram followers. The two regularly appeared together in couple-style reels, which had already sparked dating rumors long before the leak.
How the video was leaked
The couple has publicly stated the recording was more than a year old and kept only on Sonali’s personal phone for private memories. During a joint shoot, they handed their phones to a close friend named Rubel, who knew their passwords because of the trust within the group. According to Sofik and Sonali, Rubel secretly copied the video.
When the couple later distanced themselves from Rubel to pursue bigger projects, he allegedly started blackmailing them for money. After they refused to pay, he uploaded the full 19-minute clip as revenge.
Their response
On November 27 both posted long emotional videos on Instagram:
- Sonali broke down while showing voice notes and chats in which Rubel admits he has the video and threatens to release it.
- Sofik explained the entire timeline and said the betrayal has destroyed their mental peace.
- Sonali revealed she has been having suicidal thoughts because of nonstop trolling and abuse, and she is now scared to leave her house.
Police complaint
Yesterday (November 27), Dustu Sonali filed an official FIR at a Kolkata police station against Rubel and two others for blackmail, extortion, voyeurism, and abetment to suicide. She submitted screenshots, voice recordings, and bank transaction details as evidence. Sofik has said he will join the case. The investigation is ongoing; no arrests have been made public yet.
