College Study Tour: Delhi, Nainital, Rishikesh, Haridwar

The 8 days study tour organized by our college under the guidance of Mrs. Sanavi Deshmukh, in-charge Principal of Bhagubai Changu Thakur College of Law, New Panvel aimed to provide students with practical exposure to various facets of Indian law, culture, and heritage. The tour was led by Asst. Prof. Ms. Aparajita Gupta, In-charge of Excursion Committee and Faculty co-ordinator Mr. Sagar Devghare with a total of 46 students. Over the course of eight days, students explored significant landmarks in Delhi, Nainital, Rishikesh and Haridwar, gaining insights into legal proceedings, historical sites, and spiritual experiences.

Day 2-3: Delhi

Upon arrival in Delhi, the group delved into the heart of India’s legal system with a visit to the Supreme Court. Observing court proceedings offered invaluable insights into the judicial process and the functioning of the highest court in the country. Subsequently, the tour continued with visits to cultural landmarks such as Rashtrapati Bhavan Museum, showcasing the rich history and heritage of India’s presidential residence, and the Judges Library, providing students with access to extensive legal resources.

The exploration of Delhi’s historical legacy included visits to the iconic Red Fort, Chandni Chowk, and Sarojini Nagar Market. These experiences not only offered a glimpse into India’s colonial past but also exposed students to the vibrant cultural tapestry of the city.

Day 4-5: Nainital

Departing from Delhi, the tour proceeded to Nainital, nestled in the serene landscapes of Uttarakhand. The scenic beauty of Naini Lake set the stage for a memorable boating experience, allowing students to appreciate the natural splendor of the region. A visit to Naina Devi Temple provided a spiritual interlude, offering insights into Hindu religious practices and beliefs.

The tour then ascended the heights of Nainital via ropeway, affording panoramic views of the surrounding mountains and valleys. The exploration culminated with a stroll along Mall Road, where students immersed themselves in the local culture, cuisine, and handicrafts. The night ended with a memorable bonfire and lots of singing.

 

Day 6-8: Haridwar-Rishikesh

Continuing the journey, the group ventured to Haridwar, a sacred city on the banks of the river Ganges. The thrill of river rafting in Rishikesh provided an exhilarating experience, blending adventure with the natural beauty of the Himalayan foothills. Visits to Ram Jhula and Laxman Jhula offered opportunities for spiritual reflection amidst the tranquil surroundings.

Exploring the vibrant streets of Rishikesh, students engaged in shopping for souvenirs and mementos, further immersing themselves in the local culture. The tour culminated with the mesmerizing Ganga Aarti at Har Ki Pauri, a soul-stirring ceremony that left a lasting impression on all attendees.

The final evening in Haridwar concluded with a lively DJ Night at the hotel, providing students with a chance to unwind and celebrate the enriching experiences of the tour. On the last day, the group bid farewell to the spiritual city and embarked on a train journey back to Mumbai, carrying with them memories and insights that would shape their legal education and personal growth.

The study tour proved to be a transformative experience for the students of, offering a holistic understanding of law, culture, and spirituality in the Indian context. Through visits to legal institutions, historical landmarks, and spiritual sites, students gained valuable insights and perspectives that will inform their academic pursuits and professional endeavors in the field of law.
