Basant Panchami Celebration and Singing Competition

Venue: Seminar Hall, Bhagubai Changu Thakur College of Law

Basant Panchami, marking the arrival of spring and the divine celebration of the creation of the universe and Goddess Saraswati’s birth, was joyously celebrated at our esteemed institution. The occasion served as a backdrop for a cultural extravaganza, blending the harmonious notes of music with the rich tapestry of our heritage.

The much-anticipated singing competition took place at the Seminar Hall at 11:00 am. Enthusiastic singers from various academic years participated, adding a vibrant energy to the occasion. The theme, “Our Cultural Heritage,” reflected in the traditional attire adorned by participants, with yellow being the predominant color, symbolizing the vibrancy of Basant Panchami.

The competition witnessed a diverse array of vocal talents, with participants showcasing their skills, expressing emotions, and embodying the cultural spirit of Basant Panchami. The distinguished panel of judges, led by adv. Amruta Deta, meticulously evaluated performances based on vocal quality, expression, stage presence, musicality, and overall presentation.

Winners:

After careful consideration, the winners were announced:

  • 1st Prize: Sachin Sonawane, 3rd Year LL.B & Raghunath Rupvate, 3rd Year LL.B
  • 2nd Prize: Swati Dhavale, 2nd Year LL.B
  • 3rd Prize: Pranali Thakur, 3rd Year LL.B

The winners not only demonstrated exceptional musical prowess but also embodied the cultural ethos of the event.

In addition to the singing competition, the celebration included a heartfelt Saraswati Poojan. The college community came together to garland the portrait of  maa Saraswati and pay homage to the divine Goddess of Wisdom. This ritual added a spiritual dimension to the cultural festivity.

The success of the event was made possible through the collective efforts of the participants, volunteers Anushka and prerna and chaitrali. the esteemed judging panel, Incharge Principal Mrs. Sanavi Deshmukh, and faculty member Asst. Prof. Dhanashri Yogesh Kadam. Their dedication and contributions added a layer of excellence to the celebration.

The Basant Panchami celebration at Bhagubai Changu Thakur College of Law was a harmonious blend of cultural expression, musical talent, and spiritual reverence. The event not only showcased the diverse talents within the college community but also provided a platform for unity and cultural pride.
