State Level Extempore Elocution Competition

 

The State Level Extempore Elocution Competition unfolded with grace and intellectual vigor, heralding a day of expressive brilliance and informed discourse.

The program commenced with a collective rendition of the National Anthem, resonating in harmonious unison, followed by the soulful strains of the Maharashtra Geet, capturing the cultural essence of the state. A reflective moment followed as participants paid homage with a floral tribute to late dignitaries, acknowledging their invaluable contributions to the legal fraternity.

The ceremonial lighting of the lamp marked the initiation of the event, symbolizing the pursuit of knowledge and enlightenment in the legal domain.

The distinguished Chief Guest, Mr. Subhash T. Mahadik, a seasoned legal professional, was introduced, with his illustrious journey from an advocate to an Additional District and Sessions Judge highlighted, showcasing unwavering commitment and proficiency in the legal field

A diverse group of 20 participants from various esteemed colleges lent vibrancy to the competition. Notable institutions included KES Law College, KC Law College, and Tilak Maharashtra Vidyapeeth.

The Preliminary Round, assessed by external judges Adv. Swapnil Patil and Dr. Amitabh Gawale, alongside internal judges Mrs. Ravnish Bector and Dr. Mamta Goswami, allowed each participant 20 minutes for preparation and 3-5 minutes to present their viewpoints, elevating the competition’s caliber.

The Final Round witnessed participants showcasing impromptu oratory skills, with judges Mrs. Ashwini Takalkar and Internal Judge Dhanashree Choughle scrutinizing their performances.

The program’s highlight was the speech on JBSP history and importance, delivered by Yogita Bhagat, a 3rd-year LLB student. Her insightful discourse provided a historical backdrop and underscored the significance of the Janardan Bhagat Shikshan Prasarak Sanstha (JBSP), enriching the audience’s understanding of the trust’s legacy.

             

The program hosts, Ms. Prerana Gaikwad, a 4th-year BLS-LLB student, and Ms. Samruddhi Tiwatne, a final-year BLS-LLB student, along with Assistant Professor Mohit G, co-convener, and Ms. Aparajita Gupta, co-convenor of the competition and JBSP lecture series, navigated the proceedings with finesse and enthusiasm, guiding the audience seamlessly through the event.

The thrilling announcement of winners added an extra layer of excitement to the event. Shreya Lal from KLE College Of Law secured the 1st position, earning a prestigious trophy and a cash prize of ₹10,000.

Priyansi Vijay Patil and Jignayasa Bhagat, both from Agnel School of Law, secured the 2nd and 3rd positions, respectively. Each position comes with a trophy, adding to the pride of their accomplishments, along with cash prizes of ₹7,000 and ₹5,000, respectively.

The program concluded with the distribution of participation certificates to all participants, acknowledging their efforts Ms. Aparajita Gupta extended a heartfelt vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to everyone involved.

Beyond the competition, a special felicitation ceremony honored the dedicated volunteers, whose commitment extended beyond the competition day. This encompassed a six-day lecture series on criminal justice systems, concluding with the resonating notes of Vande Mataram, instilling a sense of pride and nationalistic spirit.
