On 16th October 2023, Library Committee of Bhagubai Changu Thakur College of Law, New Panvel. Organized Author Talk Session and Library Orientation Programme under the guidance of In-charge Principal Sanavi Deshmukh ma’am on the occasion of “Vachan Prerna Din”
The author talk session began at 11:30 a.m. with a welcome note from the host, Ms. Prerna Gaikwad 4th Yr. BLS LL.B. student, singing of the National Anthem, lighting of lamp and garlanding the photographs of JBSPS’s Hon’ble late Janardan Bhagat, Hon’ble late Changu Kana Thakur and Hon’ble late Bhagubai Changu Thakur along with recital of Saraswati Vandana sung by 2nd Year Students Mrs. Avantika Joshi and Mrs. Roshana Baikar
The introductory note about the programme was addressed by Ms. Janhavi Bhoir, Librarian and the introduction of the guest, Dr. S. A. Karandikar was done by student of 2nd Year LL. B Mr. Anil Ghamre. Sir is not just a prolific writer but also a former civil judge, a seasoned advocate, and a respected authority in the field of law.
Our In-charge Principal Mrs Sanavi Deshmukh welcomed the guest, Dr. S. A. Karandikar Sir with Momento and after that Author Talk Session was initiated by the Guest of Honour Dr. S. A. Karandikar. Sir delivered a talk on reading culture and habits amongst law students. Sir also guided students on how to choose perfect book for study. Sir advised students to take maximum advantage of library books beside the information available on google. Sir shared his experience as well and books enhanced his knowledge. Later, The question and answer session was opened up for discussion.
After that, felicitation of the guest was done by our In-charge Principal Mrs. Sanavi Deshmukh Ma’am with shawl and shreefal.
The next session which was regarding Library Orientation Programme was handed over to Ms. Janhavi Bhoir, Librarian of Bhagubai Changu Thakur College of Law, New Panvel. Ms. Janhavi Bhoir gave information of the different important services of the library to the students such as Book Bank Facility, E-Library, Legal Databases Access, Scanned Question Papers Access, Library OPAC, Library Website, etc. With Live Demo, Ms. Janahvi showed the Library Website page, Online Public Access Catalogue (OPAC) in which students can search list of books which our Library holds.
Both the sessions kept the students enthralled as they listened with deep concentration and could connect themselves with the examples cited by the speakers. The seminar was attended by a large gathering of students from B.A., LL.B. (5 Years) and LL.B. (3 Years) as well.
The vote of thanks was delivered by student of 2nd Year B.A., LL. B. Mrs. Avantika Joshi by thanking all those who attended the programme and to all teaching staff, non-teaching staff who contributed towards the successful completion of the programme. The programme concluded with singing of the National Song.
