The NSS unit of Bhagubai Changu Thakur College of Law hosted “Walk for Freedom” in Panvel on 14th October 2023.

More than 220 students participated in the Walk organised by Bhagubai Changu Thakur College of Law in collaboration with “The Movement”. The Walk was declared open by Dr. Suryakant Parkale, Chief Program Officer, Changu Kana Thakur College of Arts, Commerce and Science and concluded by Mrs. Sanavi Deshmukh, Principal, Bhagubai Changu Thakur College of Law. Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Parkale said, “This solidarity of students against Human Trafficking will awaken the sleeping society over this evil.” In her address, Mrs.Deshmukh said, “ This Walk marks our youngsters as the soldiers for freedom against human trafficking.”

At the start of the Walk participants in Panvel, Mumbai and across the nation took a pledge to do everything possible within their means to help end trafficking in their lifetimes. They then walked in double file holding placards with information and statistics about human trafficking starting from and returning to Bhagubai Changu Thakur College of Law, Panvel via public roads in the vicinity. The Walk was a completely silent Walk in solidarity with voiceless victims of human trafficking.

This was Mumbai city’s fifth year participating in the Walk for Freedom, for the first time being hosted by Bhagubai Changu Thakur College of Law, Panvel.
