Empowering Change on World Humanitarian Day

On the occasion of World Humanitarian Day, Bhagubai Changu Thakur College of Law, New Panvel, took a significant step in addressing the issue of begging through a focused session held on August 19, 2023. This day serves as a poignant reminder of the power of compassion and collective action to alleviate the suffering of vulnerable populations.
Session Highlights:
Honorable Speaker, Ms. Krupa Naik, led the charge with an enlightening lecture on Anti-Begging. Delving into the root causes of begging, the session explored socioeconomic factors, mental health implications, and the broader impact on individuals and society. Ms. Naik emphasized the crucial role of empathy and understanding, revealing the unique stories that lie behind every beggar.
Practical Enlightenment:
The subsequent practical segment aimed to arm participants with effective tools to engage with beggars and provide meaningful alternatives to support them. This hands-on approach aimed to empower individuals to make a positive impact in addressing this challenge.
Guidance and Collaboration:
The event was organized by the College Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) Committee In-charge, Mr. Himanshu More, under the guidance of In-Charge Principal, Mrs. Dhanashri Kadam. The participants, comprising students from BLS LLB, LLB, and LLM courses, gathered with enthusiasm and anticipation. Esteemed faculty members, including Asst. Prof. Ravnish Bector, Asst. Prof. Himanshu More, Asst. Prof. Dr. Mamata Goswami, and others, lent their presence to enhance the significance of the occasion.
