Celebration of International Yoga Day at Bhagubai Changu Thakur College of Law

On June 21, 2023, the NSS Unit of Bhagubai Changu Thakur College of Law organized a special yoga session in celebration of International Yoga Day. The session was conducted by Yoga Instructor Shardhha Hire and aimed to promote the practice of yoga for physical and mental well-being among the participants. session is hosted by Aamina Hashim.

The event commenced with the participants standing united to sing the National Anthem, showcasing their reverence for the country. Following this, the photographs of respected personalities, including Shri. Janardan Bhagat Saheb, Shri. Changu Kana Thakur Saheb, Matoshri Bhagubai Changu Thakur, were garlanded, paying homage to their contributions. To mark the auspiciousness of the occasion, lamps were lit by the college principal, faculty members, and special guests. The illumination symbolized enlightenment and the dispelling of darkness, both in a literal and metaphorical sense.

A first-year LL.B. student Sandhya Kamble took the responsibility of introducing the esteemed guest, Shardhha Hire, the yoga instructor for the session. The introduction provided insights into her expertise and accomplishments in the field of yoga, capturing the attention of the audience.

Assistant Professor Raghav Sharma delivered a warm and inspiring welcome address, expressing gratitude to the participants for their presence and highlighting the significance of yoga in leading a balanced and healthy life. He emphasized the transformative power of yoga and encouraged everyone to embrace its practice.

Yoga Instructor Shardhha Hire was felicitated by the college principal, Dhanashri Kadam, with a shawl, memento, and a sapling of a coconut plant, as a token of appreciation for her expertise and valuable contribution. In turn, Principal Dhanashri Kadam was also honoured by Raghav Sharma with a sapling, recognizing her leadership and support for the event. To acknowledge his significant role in organizing the event, Asst. prof. Raghav Sharma was felicitated by Asst. Prof. Ravnish Bector, a respected faculty member, who commended his dedication and efforts in making the International Yoga Day celebration a success.

Under the guidance of Yoga Instructor Shardhha Hire, the participants engaged in a rejuvenating yoga session. They practiced various asanas focusing on correct alignment, mindful movements, and controlled breathing.

A first-year LL.B. student Yasmin Siddiqui delivered a heartfelt vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to the yoga instructor, principal, faculty members, and participants for their active participation and contribution to the event’s success. The student acknowledged the significance of yoga in promoting overall well-being and encouraged everyone to continue their yoga journey.

The program concluded on a patriotic note with a spirited rendition of Vande Mataram, evoking a sense of national pride and unity among the participants.
