Bhagubai Changu Thakur College of Law, New Panvel had organized “Lecture on Library Orientation” for the newly admitted students of LL.B. (3 Yrs.) Course & B.L.S, LL.B. (5 Yrs.) Course on 5th March, 2022. The Orientation was conducted by Librarian Mr. Hitesh M. Chhatani, MLISc (UGC-NET, MH-SET), BSc.IT & PGDLIM.
The Main Objective of this lecture was to provide all insights of a library resources. The library is the heart of Legal Institute. So, apart from Books the main aim was to provide information on various other Resources.
Mr. Hitesh Chhatani informs the different important services like Book Bank, E-Library, Current Awareness etc. Provided by the Library. He gave information regarding books, periodicals, journal, news-papers etc. available in the library. He explained about Case Law Citation which is most reflected in a Journals like All India Reporter, Criminal Law Journal etc. He shows the digitized materials like Question Paper, E-Magazine, E-Bareacts etc. With Live Demo, he showed the Library Website page, Online Public Access Catalogue (OPAC) in which students can search list of books which our Library holds. Most important segment i.e. All India Reporter Judgment Database was explained on different Search parameters like Nominal Search, Search by Judge Name, Court Name, Free text search etc. At the end he also cleared doubts of the students in question answer session. Dr. Mrs. Shitala S. Gavand, Principal, delivered a Vote of Thanks for the Session. The programme was conducted online through Zoom Software.
