Under the guidance of Shri. Ramsheth Thakur, Chairman, Janardan Bhagat Shikshan Prasarak Sanstha and Shri. Y. T. Deshmukh, Vice Chairman, Janardan Bhagat Shikshan Prasarak Sanstha, Bhagubai Changu Thakur College of Law, New Panvel, organized 4th Late Shri. Janardan Bhagat Memorial Lecture Series. Dr. Mrs. Shitala S. Gavand, Principal, took initiative for organizing this Lecture Series.
Hon’ble Shri. Justice Abhay S. Oka, Judge, Supreme Court of India inaugurated this lecture series on 28/11/2021.
Due to Corona Virus pandemic, this lecture series was conducted online on Zoom app and the lecture series was simultaneously telecasted live on YouTube.
Dr. Mrs. Shitala S. Gavand, Principal delivered welcome address and introduced the chief guest and highlighted the importance of this lecture series for expanding horizons of knowledge. Then the Chief Guest Hon’ble Shri. Justice Abhay S. Oka, Judge, Supreme Court of India, while inaugurating this lecture series delivered lecture on the topic “Challenges before Legal and Judicial System of India” and explained the importance of healthy judiciary for good justice delivery system. He also explained need of more judges and good infrastructure for expeditious disposal of cases. At the end of the lecture, in interactive session the Hon’ble Chief Guest, gave answers to the lot of questions asked by the students.
Mr. Suyash Batake, Secretary, Moot Court Association hosted the programme and Asst. Prof. Sanghapriya Shere delivered the vote of thanks. Student coordinators Mr. Faizan Shaikh recorded his active participation for smooth execution of the lecture series. The programme begin with national anthem and ended with national song Vande Mataram.
