Webinar Series- From 01.08.2021 to 04.08.2021
Day-1, Sunday, 01.08.2021
Department of Law, University of Mumbai, Maharashtra State University; Department of Law, Mahatma Gandhi Kashi Vidyapith, Uttar Pradesh State University and J.B.S.P. Sanstha’s Bhagubai Changu Thakur College of Law, Panvel, Raigad, jointly organized Legal Aid Awareness Programme for Academic Year 2021-22, “LAW AT YOUR DOORSTEP”.
The programme began with National Anthem. Hon’ble Shri. Justice B. N. Shrikrishna, Former Judge, Supreme Court of India, inaugurated this Webinar Series on 1st August, 2021. Due to Corona Virus pandemic, this Webinar series was conducted online on Zoom app and simultaneously telecasted live on YouTube.
Dr. Mrs. Rajeshree Varhadi, Professor and Head of Department, Department of Law, University of Mumbai, delivered Introductory Address and highlighted importance of Legal awareness. Thereafter, Dr. Ranjan Kumar, Professor, Head and Dean, Department of Law, Mahatma Gandhi Kashi Vidyapith, Varanasi, delivered Introductory Speech and enlightened everyone with words of wisdom. Hon’ble Mr. Baliram Gaikwad, Registrar, University of Mumbai, congratulated the organizers for the joint efforts taken by them for organising this webinar series and he also guided all the participants. Thereafter, Dr. Mrs. Shitala S. Gavand, Principal, Bhagubai Changu Thakur College of Law, introduced the Hon’ble Chief Guest and highlighted the importance of this Webinar Series for expanding horizons of knowledge.
The Chief Guest, Hon’ble Shri. Justice B. N. Shrikrishna, Former Judge, Supreme Court of India, while inaugurating this Webinar Series delivered lecture on the topic “LAW AND SOCIETY” and explained importance of law in society, its connection with society and various other aspects.
Mr. Suyash Bartake (final year student of BCT College of Law) hosted the entire Programme and at the end of the first day of Webinar Series Dr. Mrs. Shitala S. Gavand, Principal, BCT College of Law proposed vote of thanks. In her elaborate vote of thanks, she thanked Hon’ble Chief Guest Hon’ble Shri. Justice B. N. Shrikrishna for his enlightening speech, Dr. Ms. Rajeshree Varhadi, Professor and Head of Department, Department of Law, University of Mumbai, Dr. Ranjan Kumar, Professor, Head and Dean, Department of Law, Mahatma Gandhi Kashi Vidyapith, Varanasi and she also thanked Hon’ble Mr. Baliram Gaikwad, Registrar, University of Mumbai, Shri. Ramsheth Thakur Sir, Chairman, JBSP Sanstha, Shri. Arunsheth Bhagat, President, JBSP Sanstha, Shri. Y. T. Deshmukh Sir, Vice Chairman, JBSP Sanstha, Dr. S. T. Gadade, Secretary, JBSP Sanstha and all the members of the management for their constant support. She also thanked the Teaching and non-teaching staff of the Department of Law, University of Mumbai, Department of Law, Mahatma Gandhi Kashi Vidyapith, Varanasi and B.C.T. College of Law. She also thanked the students, alumini and all participants, without whose presence the programme could not have achieved success. The Programme ended with national song Vande Mataram.
