3rd Late Shri. Janardan Bhagat Memorial Lecture Series, on 05/09/2020 by Hon’ble Shri. Justice Abhay S. Oka, Chief Justice, High Court of Karnataka
Under the guidance of Shri. Ramsheth Thakur, Chairman, Janardan Bhagat Shikshan Prasarak Sanstha and Shri. Y. T. Deshmukh, Vice Chairman, Janardan Bhagat Shikshan Prasarak Sanstha, Bhagubai Changu Thakur College of Law, New Panvel, organized 3rd Late Shri. Janardan Bhagat Memorial Lecture Series. Dr. Mrs. Shitala S. Gavand, Principal, took initiative for organizing this Lecture Series.
Hon’ble Shri. Justice Abhay S. Oka, Chief Justice, High Court of Karnataka inaugurated this lecture series on 5th September 2020.
Due to Corona Virus pandemic, this lecture series was conducted online on Zoom app and the lecture series was simultaneously telecasted live on YouTube.
Dr. Mrs. Shitala S. Gavand, Principal delivered welcome address and introduced the chief guest and highlighted the importance of this lecture series for expanding horizons of knowledge. Thereafter Hon’ble Mrs. Archana Paresh Thakur address the conference and congratulated B.C.T. Law colleges for constantly organizing such events for the benefit of the students. There after Chief Guest Hon’ble Shri. Justice Abhay S. Oka, Chief Justice, High Court of Karnataka while inaugurating this lecture series delivered lecture on the topic “Healthy Legal Profession for Healthy Society” and explained the importance of role of advocates in progress of out nation
The second lecture in the series was delivered by Hon’ble Shri. Justice S. C. Dharmadhikari, Former Judge High Court, Bombay on 06/09/2020. He guided the students on the topic “Scenario of Current Legal Education”
The third lecture in the series was delivered by Shri. Shivaji M. Jadhav, Senior Advocate, Supreme Court of India on 07/09/2020. He guided the students on the topic “Extraordinary Jurisdiction of the Supreme Court of India”
The fourth lecture in the series was delivered by Shri. Ram Apte, Senior Counsel, High Court, Bombay on 08/09/2020. He guided the students on the topic “Separation of Powers in India – Constitutional Provisions & Reality”
It being last lecture of this lecture series, at the end Dr. Mrs. Shitala S. Gavand, Principal BCT College of Law proposed vote of thanks. In her elaborate vote of thanks, she thanked Shri. Ramsheth Thakur Sir, Chairman, JBSP Sanstha, Shri. Arunsheth Bhagat, President, JBSP Sanstha, Shri. Y. T. Deshmukh Sir, Vice Chairman, JBSP Sanstha, Shri. S. T. Gadade, Secretary, JBSP Sanstha and all the members of the management for their constant support and she also thanked the staff and students of the college with special reference to all the student volunteers for successful execution of this lecture series.
At the end of each lecture the respective speaker, in question – answer session gave answers to the lot of questions asked by the students. On each day the programme begin with national anthem and ended with national song vande Mataram.
Asst. Prof. Ms. Shruti Pote, Prof. Ashka Shukla and student coordinators Mr. Suyash Bartake, Ms. Akshata Thakur, Mr. Faizan Shaikh, Ms. Sanchita Chimane, Ms. Sanchita Kardak, Ms. Pournima Patekar recorded their active participation for smooth execution of this lecture series.
