Under the guidance of Shri. Ramsheth Thakur, Chairman, Janardan Bhagat Shikshan Prasarak Sanstha and Shri. Y. T. Deshmukh, Vice Chairman, Janardan Bhagat Shikshan Prasarak Sanstha, Bhagubai Changu Thakur College of Law, New Panvel, organized Late Shri. Janardan Bhagat Memorial Lecture Series with the initiative taken by Dr. Mrs. Shitala S. Gavand, Principal of the college.

The Second lecture in the series was delivered by Shri. Ram Apte, Senior Counsel, High Court, Bombay on 23/02/2020. He was welcomed and felicitated by Dr. Mrs. Shitala S. Gavand.

 Shri. Ram Apte, Senior Counsel, High Court, Bombay delivered the lecture on the topic “Fundamental Rights Under the Constitution of India & Aspects of Reasonable Restrictions”. He explained the importance and significance of fundamental rights and necessity of some reasonable restrictions which are specified along with such rights. With lot of examples he explained how the Hon’ble Supreme Court has interpreted these fundamental rights in it’s various judgments and how their scope was widen by judicial interpretation without amending the wordings of those rights.

He also explained the legal position in respect of the present burning issue of Citizenship Amendment Act, 2019 with reference to constitutional provisions.

Thereafter during question and answer session, Shri. Ram Apte gave answers to the lot of questions asked by the students
