Bhagubai Changu Thakur College of Law, Navin Panvel had organized Police Station Visit for the students of College. The Students visited Navi Mumbai Police Commissionerate, CBD, Belapur on 25/03/2019. Dr. Mrs. Shitala Gavand, I/c. Principal obtained necessary permissions for this visit. The students observed the campus and visited Economic Offences Wing, Crime Branch, Navi Mumbai. During this visit valuable guidance was given by API Rajurkar and API Pradip Sawant. API Rajurkar gave a brief introduction and explained the importance of a specialized branch of investigation i.e. Economic Offences Wing. API Pradip Sawant explained the difference between the investigations made by regular police into regular offenses and the investigations made by this specialized branch into Economic offenses. He explained the entire procedure involved in the police investigation, right from the lodging of the FIR till filing of Charge Sheet. He also highlighted the circumstances in which orders under section 156(3) are passed by the Magistrates and further steps taken upon the registration of FIR. He also pointed out the difference with respect to orders passed under section 202 of Cr.P.C. API Mr. Sawant further explained the importance of CDR i.e. Call Detail Records in the police investigation and he further explained the reports filed by police under section 169 of Cr.P.C. and also explained various Summary Reports viz. A- Summary, B- Summary, C-Summery. A large number of students attended this police station visit.
