HIGH COURT VISIT – 2019

Students of Bhagubai Changu Thakur College of Law, visited Bombay High Court on 15/2/2019 along with Prof. Anuja Rane. Adv. Shreekant Gavand, Addl. Public Prosecutor, High Court, guided the students during this visit.
The Students visited various courts rooms and observed the proceedings conducted in the Court. Thereafter the students visited to the office of Bar Council of Maharashtra and Goa. On behalf of Law College, Prof. Anuja Rane greeted the officer bearers with bouquet. Shri. Ranpise, the Secretary address the students and gave information about the overall working of Bar Council of Maharashtra & Goa and Bar Council of India. Advocate Harshad Bhadbhade explained the scheme of Section 35 of the Advocates Act and procedure for conducting cases against Advocates for professional misconducts. With examples, he explained the importance of Professional Ethics.
The Students then visited the office of the High Court Legal Services Committee. On behalf of Law College, Prof. Anuja Rane greeted the Superintendent, Legal of High Court Legal Services Committee with a bouquet. Shri. Ajit Shirkar, Superintendent, Legal explained the importance of Free Legal Aid and he gave very valuable information in respect of working of the High Court Legal Services Committee. The Students were given lunch in High Court Canteen and lastly, the Students visited the High Court Museum.
