First Moot Court Competition

B.C.T. College of Law, New Panvel on 11th August 2018 had organized First Intra College Moot Court Competition. Many students participated in this competition. Adv. Niranjan Mundargi, a renowned Criminal Practitioner in Bombay High Court, presided over the said moot court as the Judge. Before commencement of the competition, Adv. Shri. Niranjan Mundargi was felicitated by Dr. Mrs. Shitala Gavand, with bouquet, shawl, shrifal and memento and thereafter Adv. Shri. Niranjan Mundargi addressed the students. He gave very valuable tips for improving English language and advocacy skill. He advised students to participate in as many moot courts as they can, as it is a very important experience before actual court practice begins. Asst. Prof. Sandhya Balakrishnan, Asst. Prof. Sarita Samel and Asst. Prof. Dipali Babar were also present for the competition.

All the students were excited about this competition and they ensure the success of the competition. Dr. Mrs. Shitala S. Gavand, Principal took initiative and efforts for organizing this moot court competition in the college and also guided the students.

As per the serial number of the students to this competition, they were divided as appellant and respondent and accordingly arguments were advanced by them. Marks were given for various criteria’s viz. written submissions, appearance, presentation, confidence, knowledge of the subject, etc. and at the end results were declared and the first five amongst them are as under:


1. First Rank: Mr. Ranajeet Singh, LLB 3rd Year
2. Second Rank: Mr. Shivam Tiwari, BLS, 5th Year
3. Third Rank: Mr. Rushikesh Patil, BLS, 2nd Year
4. Consolation Prize: Mr. Ajinkya Sarawade, BLS, 4th Year
5. Consolation Prize: Ms. Pranitee Mhaskar, BLS, 4th Year
